The PIT STOP MUSIC MARATHON was born out of a single concept – why not us? We here at Spirit of ’68 Promotions love music but hate to travel and hate the idea that Bloomington is too small to attract the kind of shows that bigger cities crave. So years ago we decided to stop asking “why not us?” and made Bloomington, IN, into a destination stop for the likes of Grizzly Bear, Sharon Jones, Sufjan Stevens, Girl Talk, Deerhunter and any band looking to turn buzz and blog chatter into a great show with great crowds chocked full of the Midwestern love known from coast to coast.

So we asked ourselves, if we can’t take off work, school and responsibility to take in SXSW, why don’t we try and bring a taste of the excitement to our stages?

The PIT STOP MUSIC MARATHON is unlike any other music festival or event happening in the Midwest today. PIT STOP MUSIC MARATHON offers seven consecutive nights of music spread across two venues showcasing bands on the blogs, lips and iPods of critics, students and music connoisseurs.
