Waxeater
AUDIO

Making music for 3 years, Waxeater has gone through what would seem like an entire career’s worth of changes; both sonically and personnel-wise. Beginning in the summer of 2006 Jeremy Mills (Bass), Rob Montage (GTR), and then-drummer Zac Canale set out to grab for that most American of dreams – playing in a dissonant rock band capable of inducing equal parts cringing and head-nodding. With influences ranging from the expected (The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi) to the strange (Nomeansno, The Melvins), Waxeater never hesitate to incorporate the idiosyncrasies of past hard-rock movements into their diverse sound. With the departure of Canale and the addition of drummer James Lyter in 2007, Waxeater went through their most dramatic change thanks to Lyter’s love and respect for the blistering tempos and frequent time-changes of punk and hardcore.
In the time since then, Waxeater have been touring during the summer and playing consistent one-off and weekend jaunts throughout the rest of the year. Their live performances attempt to capture both the energy and abrasiveness of their recordings, resulting in an often chaotic performance sure to satisfy even the most seasoned music fan. Known for their onstage banter and off-the-wall cover song choices, 2009 saw them complete their most successful tour yet.
